It is a requirement of the law that every LP gas cylinder is tested every 10 years to ensure that it still complies with the safety standards. Upon inspection the LP Gas tank will be pressure tested, inspected externally for damage and internally for corrosion. The pressure relief valve will be replaced and will have a new test date stamped onto the tank compliance plate. Most tanks last a considerable amount of time depending upon where the cylinder has been situated and how the vehicle has been used and maintained A vehicle cannot pass a LP Gas certificate if the tank is out of test. Only a certified licensed LP Gas technician can conduct tank retests.
